About Us
Vickie Mckay-Rucker grew up in the small town of Reedsburg, WI. As a young girl, she would often look up into the sky and see the contrails of the airplanes flying high above her and wondered to what exciting destinations those planes were taking it's passengers.
Vickie studied accounting while attending college and soon thereafter, her life took her around the globe to South Korea and Germany. She loved the cultures of the places she visited and would collect treasures from all over the world.
In the early 90's Vickie joined the Army and found herself back in Germany. She went to the European flea-markets and a love of the "old and unique" developed within her. After four years in the military, she was employed with a major airline, which again afforded her ample opportunity to travel the world in search of those special gems.
She left the airline in 2005 to raise her beautiful triplets. During this time, she joined some of the local multiples clubs and discovered her love of selling her out-grown children's items at the semi-annual sales. Vickie eagerly looked forward to preparing her items, and working the sale brought great delight. She liked the idea of "going green" which also helps to maintain our beautiful planet. She often wondered what it would be like to someday open a shop of her own.
Soon thereafter, she discovered the joy of estate sales. Vickie has furnished her Old-World style home almost exclusively with these items and guests are astonished to hear where she had found these re-sale masterpieces. Her passion for the unique took her to searching the web and attending tag and estate sales. Thus Victoria's Le Petite Boutique was born. Her specialty has evolved to Victorian gift items. It is her true desire to provide unique and one-of-a-kind treasures for you and your home.
Vickie lives in Castle Rock and loves to spend time with her husband, Jim and her 3 adorable children. She is active in MOPS and attends The Rock Church in Castle Rock. Her interests include traveling, shopping, belly dancing, tae-kwon-do, animals, ice-skating and reading. And learning-she has an insatiable desire to constantly learn new things.
